They finally announced more details on it. Once the countdown ends April 16th, all the Pokemon running for the election will have been revealed, and you'll be able to vote for your favorite. Unfortunately, to send in a vote you need a voting card that you can only get by purchasing Pokemon shit for over 800 yen at participating stores, so it's not something anyone outside Japan can do. (So there went /vp/'s plans to back Porygon). All voters also get to participate in a lottery where they can win exclusive shirts and shit featuring the specific Pokemon they voted for, which is pretty cool. It's also pretty obvious they're going to use the end result of the vote for SOMETHING, though they haven't revealed what yet. Presumably the winner will be the distributed as the movie theater event, since they're running this through the movie website.

The first images from CoroCoro have leaked and have revealed that next month's issue of CoroCoro will provide a huge scoop on Pokémon Sun & Moon. It has text saying that you can't see the Pokémon in the box art yet. We'll bring more as it comes
Edit @ 11:37: In the movie section of CoroCoro, it has confirmed that the Mythical Pokémon, Magearna, is to be a Steel/Fairy-type Pokémon
In addition to this, a new arcade game has been announced, seemingly following on from Pokémon Battrio and Tretta called Pokémon Ga-Olé. The mechanics of this are not yet known but you insert discs into the arcade machine, rather than rest the Tretta discs on top. It's not clear if this will replace Tretta or run in conjunction with it.
Edit @ 12:02: For the Pokémon Elections, announced last month, it is confirmed that the distribution Pokémon at the movie will be the winner. To enter, you need to get a card when prebooking the ticket and then send your vote in before May 8th. The winner will be announced in June and then distributed at the movie

It has been discovered that back in February 2016, two trademarks were registered for Solgaleo (ソルガレオ) and Lunaala (ルナアーラ). Many have speculated that these are the Legendary Pokémon for Pokémon Sun & Moon due to the format of the trademark. However, unlike the majority of Pokémon trademarks, these trademarks weren't registered by Nintendo, Game Freak or Creatures Inc. but rather listed under the name Yusuke Inui who, upon research, appears to be an IP lawyer in Japan. It's possible that this is just a registration via proxy which does happen from time to time, but it is 100% not confirmed that these trademarks pertain to Pokémon. We'll bring more details as they come so keep checking back.
